We all will meet this evening in the hotel lobby. We will take a short walk to the restaurant for our group's opening dinner. After dinner you can return back to the hotel with the group or go to the city. We will be staying in the city center, so it will be very easy.

October 5, Sunday

We will load the bus in the morning and leave Prague for Květuš. This is a small village (about 90 minutes drive) where Jitka Bonušová owns her farm. The farm is not used for farming anymore, but is used as a weekend house with a country dance barn - we organize country and folk dance parties here. The village is in a beautiful country location, perfect for those who would like to take a short walk. We will show you how to prepare some traditional sweets and we will do some Czech folk dancing as well. Then we will move to the historical town of Písek, where we check into the hotel where we will stay for two nights. In the evening we will attend a country dance party with local dancers.

In the morning we will do a sightseeing trip in the town. If you will want, you can do some shopping as well. Then we will take our bus to Český Krumlov, the famous UNESCO World Heritage site. After another sightseeing tour, you'll be free to enjoy the atmosphere of this dreamy medieval town, spending all afternoon exploring on your own or with others in the group. In the evening we will move to the small village of Ševětín to have a dinner in local restaurant and then meet with members of a local folk dance group. They will do a short show for us and then we will dance together.

October 7, Tuesday

This morning, after packing and loading the bus again, we will move to Klatovy, our next home base. But first we will visit Jarník hill and its lookout with an incredible view. Our next stop will be in Strakonice. The town is a famous for its bagpipe festival, and we will meet one of local bagpipe experts and have a small workshop. On our way to Klatovy we will meet visit with an old blacksmith, to learn about the blacksmith's art (and, if you wish, to purchase some presents.) Then we settle into our hotel in Klatovy, have dinner and enjoy some free time to relax.

October 8, Wednesday

Wednesday is a day of our visit to the Chodsko region of western Bohemia. First we will go to Koloveč to see a handcraft museum. Next stop will be a ceramic factory. The center of Chodsko region is Domažlice town with a unique display of folk costumes. When we return to Klatovy you will have some time to relax and in the evening we will have a dance party with local country dancers.

October 9, Thursday

Today we pack again. Our first stop will be in Plzeň to visit Pilsner Urquell – one of the most famous breweries in the world. The excursion include beer tasting. Our next stop will be more serious, an important reminder of Czech history. We will visit the World War II memorial in Lidice. (This village was burned down during the war in retaliation for the murder of a high German army official.) Then we will move to Prague and settle into the hotel that will be our home base for the rest of the trip.

October 10, Friday

Friday will be another busy day. In the morning we will have a guided sightseeing tour of the major Prague landmarks. Afternoon gives you a short time to relax (or more exploring on your own) and in the evening you should be ready to dance again. The country dance festival will start.

October 11, Saturday

festival program – whole day (You will receive a detailed program of the festival when you arrive.)

This day you will spend at the festival. The program will run in three dance halls and you may choose what you like to attend - country and contra dances, Irish, Mexican, Scottish dances, Appalachian clogging and Czech folk dancing. The festival is about 10 minutes walk from our hotel, so you'll be free to come and go as you please, or relax in the hotel.

October 12, Sunday

Optional evening possibility: visit one of Prague's famous theaters or concert halls (on your own, but we will help you to arrange this.)

Sunday is our last full day in Prague. In the morning we will attend the festival again and afternoon is just for you. You can visit some of Prague theaters or just enjoy a good dinner and walk on the streets.

October 13, Monday

It's time to say goodbye. The coach will be ready to take you to the airport for morning departures.
